Profile

Wilson A. Paiva joined the UFG - Universidade Federal de Goiás - in 2016 to be part of the Faculty of Education. Previously he was associate professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás, Brazil.

He received his M.A. in Political and Ethical Philosophy from the Universidade Federal de Goiás, and PhD in Philosophy of Education from the Universidade de São Paulo, both in Brazil. He has developed two post-doc researches: one at the University of Calgary (2014), in Canada, and the other at Sorbonne Université (2020/2021), in Paris. He specializes in Rousseau, with a focus on Emile or on Education;. He is member of the Rousseau Association in (USA), the LSA-Lusophone Studies Association (Canada), and other associations and research groups in Brazil and other countries. He has experience in Education, with an emphasis on Education Philosophy, working mainly on the following subjects: Educational Theories, Culture and Education, Brazilian Education, Political Philosophy, Rousseau, and Aesthetics. He has been visiting professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain), the University of Calgary (Canada) and the Sorbonne Université (France).

He is chair of the Iberoamerican research group: GEI-Rousseau (Grupo de Estudios Iberoamericanos en Rousseau)
